Fist Club complete PNT hat trick at Fistivus XXI

Congratulations to Fist Club – Fistivus XXI champions! They overcame a strong South Melbourne Fistball Club outfit in 3 sets to record their second hat trick of Peter Norman Trophies in 2 years, and extend their lead in the 2016 Roger Willen Shield standings with only one Fistivus for the season still to play.

After finish top after the round robin stage, South Melbourne quickly dispatched of arch rivals Fistroy Lions to set up a date with the final, while Fist Club had to battle hard to knock off a galiant Bay City Fisters for a place.

The Westside Wombats Fistball Club reclaimed the Lanterne Rouge fromĀ Das Fist FC, even though Das Fist captain Rolf ‘Godfister’ Petersen refused to give up the trophy.

Lindsey Lehmann of the Bay City Fisters (and the Australian National Team) was voted the Best & Fistest, marking the first time a female fister has taken out the trophy in Fistivus history! A truly monumental effort, particularly on the cusp of the Fistball 2016 – Women’s World Championship next month.

Also, despite the weather forecast of “a few showers in the afternoon”, we were treated to perfect sunny conditions! A cracking day for fistball.

Updated standings to follow soon.

Fist on!
